Production
The movie adaptation of the series was first unveiled at the Mobile Suit Gundam 35th Anniversary ~ RISE!--The World In Motion Event at March 20, 2014. It was announced that it would be a 4-Episode Movie series, in celebration of the 35th anniversary of Gundam. Originally the first episode was expected to be released in theaters in Spring 2015.[1] [2]
Yoshikazu Yasuhiko is the character designer and writer of the OVA, adapting his manga to screenplay with Kunio Okawara providing the mechanical designs again. The producer is Ichiro Itano and the director is Takashi Imanishi.
Although originally announced to be four episodes, it was later extended to six with the final two episodes fully adapting the Loum arc that was partially depicted in the prologue to episode 1.
